Introduction

Ask your students to find the difference between structure and sentences.

Ok, dear students, we know that these are two tenses. One is present perfect, and another is present perfect continuous tense. Ask the students to write two sentences of the same kind in their notebooks. Write assertive, negative, and interrogative sentences.

Let us discuss the present perfect tense in detail. Ask students to provide further examples using substitution.

 Assertive Sentence: Subject + has/have+ been + V1 + ing + Object+since/for;

 

Example: I have been speaking English for five hours.
Negative Sentence: Subject + has/have+not+ been + V1 + ing + Object+since/for;

Example: I have not been speaking English for five hours.

Interrogative Sentence: Has/have+ Subject+ been + V1 + ing + Object+since/for?;

Example: Have they been speaking English for five hours?

Negative Interrogative Sentence: Has/have+ Subject+not+ been + V1 + ing + Object+since/for?;

We look at how to employ the tense with for, since, and how long to indicate repetitive actions (for example, she has been taking dance lessons for years).
